Well im buying a gator and idk if anyone has ever had the two in the same tank i just thought it would be cool
if anyone has posts some pics

what are you putting the gator in as a enclouser, becuase if it is proper size, for an adult american gator, than you'll probalby won't be able to find p's in the water. i don't know how big they get in captivity, but this sounds bad from the get go, and the whole idea of adding p's to the enclouser is a bad idea, i really don't think gators were meant to be kept as pets. it's like you neighbor keeping a giraffe in his yard, not right. anyways gl with your new pet

A gator will eat anything that he can, the pirannah will be just snacks to a gator. I had a caiman and a moreletts croc. in my indoor pond. between the two of them they ate over 400 dollars of fish. and size of the fish makes no difference to a gator, my croc ate a red tailed catfish that weighed the same as him if not more. He ate everything except the head.

are u gonna be using the Piranhas as food, for the gator?, cuzz if u put the two in the same tank thats what will happen, Crocks eat Piranhas in the wild, now if u have a 9 inch piranha and put a 3 inch gator in the same tank, the gator is gonna have a big problem!

first alligators do not belong in tanks. they get over 10ft long and belong in an encloser that is half water half beach/river bank. the water should be probably 4ft deep. keeping piranhas and alligators together will just lead to one expensive meal.

Not to good of an idea. IMO buying an alligator is a bad idea aswell, unless you have a proper enclosure.

Why people insist on keeping alligators and caimans? They need enclosure with a width 3 to 4 times their adult size at the very LEAST. So, at 14 feet... you are already looking at 56 feet lengthwide... and at the very least you need 3136 square feet.

You might as well invest that money into converting a room in your house to a ray pond or a lizard habitat.

Not to mention in a lot of places need a permit.

i don't think a gator would go well with piranha unless you want your piranha to be snacks
