So today, i finished my water change on my 110 gall discus tank. And i went into the kitchen to clean my lid, it had a lot of mineral build up, so i put it in the bathtub with vinegar water... Went into my room, was playing my new ps3 in my room with my brother, (yes its about 1 foot away from my tank)

And a discus splashes like a gallon of water out all over it! I'm like ****!!! i run to unplug it, and the plugs and everything were covered in water.... I unplugged it and grabbed the ps3 to go dry it off, so im kneeling down to get back to the plugs and my i set the ps3 on top of the aquarium -LID-, and DUNK. freaking a... I totally forgot i had the lid off... But anyway, my brand new 299$ ps3 is history

. I'm soo sorry for laughing, because I know how pissed I would be to fry my PS3. But what made you put your PS3, or electronics for that matter , anywhere near your tank. And of all places to try to set your WET PS3, you chose the top of the aquarium your fish just splashed water out of?

Seriously though that sucks! I have done some pretty stupid things too when I was in a panic. Are the fish ok?

That sucks! Mine is right next to my two 29s. I wish there was somewhere else to put it but I'm cramped as all get out

damn man thats tough. check this though, my catfish i had in a 55 on my desk with a tv above it on a shelf. the cat freaks out one day, (18in he was in there temporarily) and rams the side of the tanks, shaking the desk a little. but just enough for the dvds on top my tv to fall in the tank, i spaz out for no reason and try to grab them and as i do my hand catches the plug and the tv falls in the tank, blunt force trauma kills the catfish breaks my tank and the glass cuts my feet. that was a bad day. not to mention the water damage in my second story room

Yeah i know it was incredibly stupid to try putting it there. I was just totally panicking.... The fish are fine.. i freaked them out, but other then that just fine... And the reason ps3 is there, is because i have a flat screen right next to my tank, both side by side. And i think it looks epic. lol. But.. I'm ok, i just sold it on ebay for 130 bucks.. even though it was broken. I just said inoporationable.

oh ****. that sounds bad... your making my story sound pathetic... lol

you know if the unit was turned off and let dry for a good week or so .. chances are it would turn on with out any problem ..

i would feel 100% ok with dropping my 360 into a bucket of water as long as i could let it sit for a good week or more .. chances are after all the water drys up everything would work normally ..

I waited about 2 weeks, fired it back up, and it just didn't work. Nothing turned on, no lights or anything.

So i just said hey what the hell, and sold it.

ehh that sucks .. sounds like the water did something before you got the plug out .. or there was still water on the boards .. hard to tell ..
