i think may be because it is local kinds and not much interest in them

I've kept them. Keep them warm and fairly dry. (think hot grasslands) They are easily exciteable and FAST. They are like a mamba on coke.
Two warnings ... 1. don't grab it by the tail. their tails will break off.
2. they are a lot hotter than people give them credit for. I've seen a mouse die from one of their bites in under a minute.
