Has anyone ever keep Pseduotropheus polit?

I have heard it is pretty aggressive. The person I talked to said they are very aggressive to each other.

I was wondering if they are aggressive to other tank inhabitants as well (other mbuna, peacocks, etc).

I bought 6 of these at an auction, because I got confused and thought they were something else. I don't want to add them to my community if they will injure/kill the other fish (made that mistake with a Demasoni before).

If they only beat up each other, I can deal with that.

I have two males in my all male mbuna tank and they seem to get along with the other fish but are very aggressive towards each other. I wouldn't suggest keeping mbuna's with peacocks though but I have seen it done before and work out.

Just out of curiosity did you get them from the GCAS auction?
If so check out this thread: Post pics of your Cincinnati bought Africans
Thats where I got my polits.

Thanks for the reply, Notorious.

I actually got them in Columbus at a post meeting auction. I got 6 fry from someone's BAP submission.

I have been to a couple GCAS events, they really have an awesome club there. I was going to go down for there spring auction, but something else got in the way (unfortunately). Quite a few fish in my tank have come from GCAS breeders.

My own tank is a 300g, with a mix of Haps, peacocks, and fairly mellow Mbuna.
It seems to work out pretty well. The polits look so pretty in adult form, but I don't want to risk it if they will harm the other fish.
