Done a little searching and couldn't find much. Any opinions on hoplarchus psitticus with stingrays? I'm not so much worried about the big Rays as I am now that theyre breeding, would a 12" cichlid damage a 3" pup before I can get them out?

I had a breeding pair of psittacus and they were unpredictable. For the most part, they minded their own business but when they were spawning, they were holy terrors. Not sure what would happen. Interesting mix though.
I keep a few 6" psittacum with my 10"+ rays but your size difference might be iffy. I wouldnt risk it unless you can immediately move one of the two if something happens
It is true that even the most steady of Cichlid species can be a very different proposition during breeding, the need to protect their eggs and young is overwhelming, however a single specimen could work well but would have to be kept a close eye on, large Cichlids such as this often have minds of their own, what works for one person might not work for another.
I personally would rather risk a South American Cichlid such as this as appose to any Central.
