I just witnessed one of my congicus kidnapped a 3" loach in his mouth and swim across the tank to the other side trying to eat it. I had stick my hand in there to free the loach. Luckily, the loach lived and no harm done. Now I know who ate my other oddball loach.:irked::nilly::swear::swear::swear: For those of you that have congicus, keep an eye on your smaller fish.

yeah my congicus are crazy for massivores and dart and sometimes grab my endli's head or my flagtail's lips

How big was the congi? You've been keeping bichirs for a long then you should expect that to happen to a 3" fish. Any non-bichirs especially from perch type, caracoid and cyprinoids that are smaller than 8" are as good as feeders. Those type of fsih are usually the target of mostly predatory fish.

Congo is about 12-13". I have never experience a bichir attacking loaches before until I got ornates and congos. These two species seem to have a taste for smaller fish. It's a good thing my pbass swim on top and never go down for food.:D

My 13" polli is capable of eating a 9" silver aro and 10" red snakeheads. Some bichirs do leave other fish alone even as small as 3-4 inches but I only manage to pull this off with datnoids, plecos and gouramis. Other fish, especially cichlids will get eaten right away.

Im a bit surprised you risked that buddy my 12" endli tried to eat my 7" endli and when he was 8" he killed a 3"cl by trying to eat it.

Steve

i just feed more to avoid temptation of a clown loach massacre.

I feed mine pretty well too and the smaller endli was only in the tank about an hour!!!
Im getting some smallish cl for my growout poly tank and these will be as big as i can afford due to them trying to eat them lol.
I just wouldnt risk it but its up to you.

Good luck.

steve
