I just picked these guys up last night. They are in a 45 gal QT tank at the moment (I should have cleaned the glass but it was late and I was tired). I'll keep them here for a couple of weeks then decide if they will end up in the 225 or if I'll set up a tank just for them. It's my first time keeping Liopoldi and I'm excited to see how they turn out. The colors are pretty cool, with some nice subdued reds already starting to show. They are noly about 1.75" body lenth so a long way to go.

They look great! From SA? Pete got them a few weeks ago and I was very tempted. Such unique fish.

Thanks, yes from SA. I was looking for more Peruvians and then saw these little guys. I rarely if ever see any WC P. liopoldi offered so I had to jump on them while they were available. George also had some larger ones with nice color, but I like growing fish out myself. I got them right onto NLS .5mm Thera +A which is pretty cool, sometimes takes a while to get wild fish into prepared foods. I traded a bunch of the Krobia Xinguensis growouts for them, good deal all the way around.

Beautiful leopoldi. One of my faves.

Thanks, I agree their adult coloration can be very nice. I put a double 36" T-5 fixture over the tank with one 10K and one 2700K that really accents the blue and red.

They are fantastic angels. My second favourite after Wild Peruvian scalare. Yours look nice and healthy

I think they are a very cool species, other than limited availabilty I don't know why they are not more popular. I guess I'll find out.

I also could never understand it. They are smaller so suit smaller tanks and really hardy.
