im gonna be heading to dc the first week of march and was just wondering if theres any decent public aquariums in the downtown area since im gonna have some time to kill. thanks!

i've been here for awhile and the only one I know of is the Baltimore aquarium. about a 45 min drive away from DC.

there is a DC Aquarium that is actually in the basement of the EPA (i'm pretty sure it's the EPA)

it isn't very large, or impressive, but it's something interesting to see. They do have a quite impressive giant gourami. haha, one of the people who was standing next to me thought that it was a regular kissing gourami, just really old. he was trying to convince me that his kissing gourami would get that large if it was put in a pond. I couldn't convince him out of it, ooh well.

sorry, it was the department of commerce not the epa , i just looked it up.

Be sure to check out the National Zoo's Amazonia exhibit. Its free of charge and they have great amazon set-up including several very large Arapaimas, Very large Fei feng, Silver aros and Rays..oh yea and did i mention that its free?!
