I'm spending my summer in Puerto Rico. I'll be here for 10 weeks serving an internship at the El Verde Field Station in the El Yunque National Forest. My research is concerning the microhabitat use by the rio Espiritu Santo fish assemblage. Since it concerns fish I thought I'd share some photos.

First photo: Our swimming hole is amazing
Second photo and third photo: there is where I'll be working

First pic: this is where I live. There is no air conditioner here and I haven't had anything but a cold shower since I've been here. Still lots of fun though.

Second pic: River Goby

Third pic: Sirajo Goby- a very colorful fish, I am so tempted to smuggle one out of here for my tanks at home rofl j/k

Fourth pic: Bigmouth Sleeper

No ac? How hot is it there?

Hot! It regularly gets into the high 90s with the humidity making it feel like it is in the 100s F. Luckily I'm staying on the mountain so there is at least a breeze most of the time. I thought I would have a harder time adjusting to the heat but after a week of it I'm pretty used to it. There are fans in the bedrooms so the air is at least circulated. Today it is very rainy and the temp is probably in the low 80's. After it being so hot for the past three weeks I actually feel a little chilly lol.
