puffer at LFS

Hey, I was considering purchasing this puffer that was refered to only as "Fugu puffer" at the LFS. I am wanting to know if it is a freshwater or brackish water fish. The LFS has it in fresh but wanting to make sure it's not unhealthy to stay that way. Also has anyone successfully kept this fish with African Cichlids

Bad link but I can tell you that the Takifugu is a MARINE fish.
