Puffer compatability

Can a dragon and hairy puffer go together in a large tank?

I have never even heard of this being tried.... but my gut feeling is a bad idea.

What about 2.5 inch target puffers with a 5 inch dragon puffer or a 4 inch hairy puffer?

Dude, puffers are pretty generally psychotic... the smaller lurkers like hairy puffers are the worst. Dragons get a lot larger and are also lurkers but even I (and I have a 16 inch fahaka in a community toy tank) would shy away from mixing puffer species. They CAN get on with other fish but are psychotically aggressive against other puffers in my experience... you can try but be prepared for heartache.

Thanks! Yeah, I'm not going to try it. I guess I'm lucky that my targets all get along, 2 of them even hang out in the same cave.

Dragon puffer (aka palembang puffers) can co-habit with each other given theres enough space...

They can also sometimes co-habit with Arrow Head Puffers (T.Suvatti) as well
