Ok, so in a few months the fish I have growing out in my 65 gallon tank (ish- 48l, 16d, 20h) will be moved to my 180. Ill then be in a position to do something with the then empty 65. One of my thoughts was a puffer... Ive been looking at posts and videos of mbus and fahakas and they look pretty awesome! Of course I know that both of them are too big for a 65 for any length of time. I dont have the option of upgrading later either so they are basically a no-no. So what are my options? With a 48x16 footprint I would be looking at 8-12 max full grown length, right? The bigger the better to be honest (within tank constraints) and I want at least some of the personality of the bigger guys. I would really like to stick to freshwater, marine is a definite no. Brackish? Preferably not, only because it would make water changes a nuisance. Filtration is a Fluval 306 and a Fluval 206. Any suggestions guys? Thanks alot :)

6 inches is a little smaller than I was hoping for... I could be barking up the wrong tree here.. there may not even be anything that fits my ideal wish list... Are congos personable?

unfortunately a bigger tank isnt an option, barring winning the lottery and getting a new house!!! Never heard of palembangs, are they common? What about topaz puffers? Anyone got any experience with them?

2 GSPs or a GSP & Ceylon.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. it seems that the only puffer that meets all the requirements I have is rare and expensive. The others are either too big, too small, to sedentary or too salty lol.

If I had a 65 gallon aquarium sittin' around my house, I'd make it saltwater.:)Or why not make it a DP tank with 13 DPs? LOL! have fun with whatever you do with that tank!
