ok so my figure 8 puffer suddenly stopped eating, i tested my water, and nitrates, less than 10, nitrites and ammonia are 0, ph is 7.8, salinity is 1.008, and temp is around 78, the only recent events i can think of that would do something is my heater malfunctioned, and i left for 4 days. ive tried everything, live food, frozen, garlic extracts. any tips would be helpful

How many days exactly has it been since your puffer last ate?

My Fahaka has been known to go on random hunger strikes for a few days sometimes up to a week if shes had a really bid meal...

Is your puffers belly sunken in? or still quite round?

Have you tried your puffers favorite food? If that didn't work, try getting some fresh garlic, crush it up really well and rub his favorite food in it and let it sit for a little while to soak in the smell...

Normally the smell should entice picky puffers to try new foods, but may help get your puffer eating again?

yea ive tried his favorite foods, i got kent garlic extract and tried that, ill try the fresh garlic, he also spends a lot of time by the filter, not in the flow, under the outlet, almost like he wants to get into the dark area.

Have you seen him poop at all? If not he could be constipated one tablespoon per 5 gallons.
