This guy has these posted on CL, as wild caught (assumed) "straight from Peru" as Peruvian Puffers "RARE"

They are $10 a piece.. look like figure 8's in a way to me..

what kind are they?

Looks like a figure eight to me, fits the pictures of the young ones I've seen.

cool looking dude! my first thought was the Colomesus asellus if its from south america BEFORE I SAW THE PICTURES but they do not have any dots like this one or has the similiar design

for your guess of a figure 8 puffer...its very possible its a Tetraodon biocellatus however I'm not that well versed in puffers
