Hi guys,

I bought this as a Baileys or Hairy Puffer but am unsure due to its complete lack of 'hairs' or cirri. I understand that these are age and sex dependent but thought I would seek some advice from the forum. Might it be a congo puffer for example?

In terms of behaviour it has mostly hung out in the driftwood cave but I did find him buried in the sand one morning which made me suspicious as I would associate this behaviour more with Congo/Potato puffers.

Feeding wise he completely ignores cockles in the shell but will rush out to gobble down deshelled cockles placed in the tank on the end of a wooden skewer.

Anyway, any help is appreciated.

Hopefully the picture is attached properly.

Decided to snap a few quick pictures on my phone, might as well give you guys something better to work with it.

So Suvatti? Baileys? Other?

Thank you to everyone thats looked so far.

Are you 100% sure Kevin?
Want to go back and have a word with the LFS about it. Just want to be certain before I do.

Unfortunately I didn't see the fish before purchase. I had only spoken with the LFS over the phone and a family member collected it for me.
I paid £25 for it. It did seem cheap for a Hairy Puffer. Is that more in line with Suvatti prices? approx. $37

That's not a bad price anywhere. They are really neat puffers and I don't think you will be disappointed at ALL. I would keep them as here I see Hairy's but not Arrowheads.
