Ok so i made a thread to get some information about puffers a while back & i got a lot of warnings about their sudden aggressive behavior, but in the back of my head i knew i had to doubt it looking at my cute arrowhead......guess what, my 7 inch Vatf was missing a big chunk of his belly near the throat area with a "V" shaped bite mark! 100 bucks down the drain excluding the goldfish funds. So far 3 of my Discus are dead, with the same "V" shaped bite mark, This thread should help out all the new puffer keepers like myself not to under estimate a puffer! don't make the same mistake i did.

Sorry for your loss... but at the same time, be thankful your puff isn't going after your fingers... unlike my congo which has his moments and now i can never turn my back on him while i'm cleaning his tank...

My Congo has drawn plenty of mine & Hubby's blood. ;) Please head the warnings of folks more experienced than yourself in these forums! :irked:

What kind of puffer? Tank mates?

He's a 5" arrowhead puffer, housed in a 240g with cudas, aros, discus, red severums, bichirs, and a lot of other fish that i got rid of. He never pays any attention to all the other bottom dwellers, scary thing is you can never find him under all my black sand. I sold him by the way, because i did not want to risk losing more expensive fish :nilly:

I've noticed that my two dwarf puffers in my 10g haven't paid any attention to my Otos that I have in the tank with them.

Sorry for your losses though!

DPs are known to get along find with ottos.

Rukusbelow, Did he ever kill any of your fish?

He killed a Vatf, & 3 discus.

I was actually asking kjfan1 what tank mates he had in with his puffer that was nice.
