Puffer tankmates

Most puffers should be kept in a species-only tank. Many must be kept as singletons. FW puffers are generally the most aggressive species. The one you linked to is very aggressive & should be kep alone. I have had sucess keeping the South American puffer ( C. asselus) in a mixed tank with cichlids. The problem with this species is they need teeth trimming 2-4x/year.

i tried a puffer with my 10+ inch oscar. everything seemed fine the 1st few days...then i noticed nice chunks taken out of my oscars fins. puffs had to go. you would think an oscar would just dominate and little fish that gives it a problem...but thats not the case. might have even happened while he was sleeping or something

You guys are confusing predatory, with aggressive fish. Predatory fish like oscars, will eat any fish that can fit into it's mouth. Aggressive fish kill other fish, by biting chunks out of them. Size doesn't matter.
