ok so i bought a new light bulb about a month ago and i noticed the puffer was having a hard time adapting to it. so i returned it and now he's growing these big white spots on top of his body. kind of like his skin is peeling off!!!! what disease is this at first i thought it was violet???? whats your opinion??

im not sure if its because of the light. usually a light cant effect a fish to get a disease. maybe parasites? or some sorta oggalallyjuggerhaul disease lol

i had a peffer there a picky fish i would do a higher salt treatment and warmer tempature also and if thaat doesnt work i think it sounds like ick. a little parasite that looks white are they small bloches are big if big it not ick.

Would this "new" light you bought a while back happen to have been a UV lamp? Many commonly available Ultra Violet lamps/tubes put out more than enough UV radiation to cook a fish's back. Would take about a 1000 years of exposure to hurt you. I only ask because you said the puff had some trouble adjusting to the new light.

no. Dwarf, Redeye, Malabar, Congo, Mbu, Fahaka, Mekong, Shoehead, Cross River and more are full fresh. but GSP need salt.

Yeahp AJ is correct..They are like most fish..Salt is beneficial to fight disease ect.
