Puffers and plants

Do puffers destroy plants? I want to plant some swords, java fern, and few other plants in the tank I am currently setting up to house a fahaka. So please let me know if I am about to waste money. Thanks

my fahaka tore up all my plants. it would even take bites out of my plastic plants. a bunch of the leaves had almost perfect half circles taken out of their edges.

If you want plants w/ it, use plastic ones, because they are more durable, especially w/ larger fish!

My fahaka would declare jihad on taller plants. But the low lying plants like anubias nana he would leave alone.
