I recently got some green spotted puffers and have them in a 5 gallon for now. since they are only 1/2 - 3/4". I want to get more puffers and put them in my 60 gallon, but the problem is that I have a 2' snowflake eel and a 1' zig zag eel in there. my concern is for the eels, I have been told the little puffers can be pretty mean when they get larger. anyone have suggestions? thanks

If the eels leave the puffers alone, it'd be too bad for them. the puffers will actually bite pieces out of the eels. I had a 2" green spotted puffer and it took chunks out of my dojos and took feelers off the snails and took off antennas off the crayfish. they're mean dude,........ your eels will be miserable if they don't end up eating the puffers

Is there any way you can return those puffers? Even if you had completely cycled that 5g tank (did you?), there is no way you would have enough bacteria to support even 1 puffer, never mind multible ones. You need 10g for 1 juvie & 30g ea for 6" adults.
Please read: GREEN SPOTTED PUFFERS
I also agree with the above--puffers will chow down on anything that is slow-moving, like an eel.

your eels will be totally loved unless they somehow eat the puffers

Also, spiny eels cannot handle the SG required for a GSP.

I have had my puffs with two snowflake eels forever and have no problem at all. Also at work we keep our GSP's with at least two eels again with no problem. The spiny eel is out of the question

Is there any aggression from the puffers towards the eels? Do the eels have good places to hide so the puffers can't get at them? I keep a dragon goby in w/my F8 puffers but he has plenty of places to get away from them. And they are always well-fed.

If it does manage to eat the puffers, they will definately be toast, as puffers are poisonous. Thos whole thread is moot though, as he cannot keep a spiney eel in high-end BW anyway.
