just looking to see peoples experiences with having a starfish(more specifically chocolate chip starfish) in with GSP. i was interested in getting one, did my research on their diet, water parameters, etc. just looking to see what people think or know of having them together in a tank. the petco by me(very new, still very clean, fish and tanks look good has a CCS i wanted to get, from end of arm to end of arm hes probably about 3 inches. petco by me has their saltwater fish in a SPG of 1.018-19 the guy said because of the different levels people have so they keep it on the lower end so the fish isnt shocked after being put in something that may be lower than what it is used to. thats exactly where my SPG is at currently until next wed when i do a water change and raise it a little. i wanted to get him before i do my water change so he can acclimate to the salinity im raising it to. :D

When my GSP's were finally converted to full marine I added a chocolate chip star fish. I've had them together for about two years with no problems. GSP's totaly ignore it.

Yup--should be fine. Not reef safe in any way though.

yeah i know. now they say the CCS are not reef safe, that includes live rock as well right? wont they eat the reefs and live rock?
