Yo. Might be able to negotiate getting a tank of 50g or less. Just wondering if a single Puffer would work as a nice pet while I'm away from home. (Studying in a different Island you see). Freshwater ones also, Brackish maintenance is something I need to know more about and going full salt is no option.

Just one fish will do in a tank that small, so if they were anything else I'd want to mention, any puffer that shows good behavior during feeding time is a must. :D

As long as you're able to take the Puffer with you if for some reason you do move back home then sure why not. They tend to live pretty long if properly cared for. 3 SAPs or a group of DPs would work in a 55 great.

I really like my abei puffer in my 55. It looks like a kingdom for him though and since he will only get fourish inches Its a bit big. He's fun to feed and watch explore though and when I come in the room he flies right to the glass to see me. Cool little Guy. If anything ever happens to him I would revamp my tank for a group of dwarfs. They are cool and almost like an aquatic wolfpack to watch hunt and eat.

But They will require brackish and then full marine....

Please explain your situation better. How long will you be available to care for these fish? When will you be coming back to your permanent home?

south american puffers are also good and not that as agressive as any puffers.

SAPs dont act like any other puffers. Id say an abei if you want an active single puffer, congos would be cool to but they are lurkers and just tend to lay around

Am living in Cebu. Studying in Manila and will be there for close to 4/5ths of the year. Still at my second year of college, so I still got 3 years more to go.

ANyways, I spoke with my mother about the idea, she said it would be too much hassle for my relatives as this would've been where I'd setup the tank.

Thanks for the input though. :D
