Puffers rear fin

Does it mean anything when puffers rear fins are fanned open or closed?

My puffers always seem to open their tails when they are happy and full of color.

My fahaka will fan when I enter the room or when I feed him. When he is sitting in the sand, his tail fin is usually closed, but his pectorals are waving.

Good point.

My Fahaka and Golden puffer fan out their tail when they are swimming across the tank or greeting me. My fahaka does it when he's happy.

It makes me think he's happy when he fans his tail at me.
