What puffers aren't to pricy and would be happy in a standard 90 gallon for life?

Researching....

i think maybe fahaka(im no puffer expert)
if you dont car about brackish or not then red eye and green spotted

A pig nosed puffer would work, (Tetradon suvatti.) They stay relatively small though, IDK if you want a larger growing species or not.

3 GSPs would work nicely in there, if you're willing to go BW.

Just so you know a Fahaka definitely will not work in a 90G... and in all honesty, now a days i think even a 125G maybe just a tad bit small...

If I were to go puffer I would want a puffer in 4-12inch range.

I'll look into the ones listed.

Brackish would be fine.

WHich puffers would have to have brackish and which have to have fresh?

Any fresh or brackish puffers with spikes?

So far I like these:

Monotrete suvattii

Monotrete Palembangensis

Tetraodon Sabahensis

Tetraodon biocellatus

Which are more common and not to exspensive?

Any fresh or brackish puffers with spikes (All puffers have spikes...some are very tiny)

So far I like these:

Monotrete suvattii -low activity, usually kept in small tanks

Monotrete Palembangensis -low activity, usually kept in small tanks

Tetraodon Sabahensis - Imopssible to find, in most cases the fish start out looking like a green spotted puffer, so you won't know for sure until they reach maturity

Tetraodon biocellatus - Excellent choice...you could do several in a 90 gallon (Light brackish) Lots of activity

Other Choices- Ceylon (Brackish) you could do one or two in a 90 (lots of activity
South American puffers (Fresh) Lots of activity...likes to be in groups, needs alot of snails, and possibly teeth trimming

Easiest to find, Bicellatus (figure 8), Green spotted puffers and South Americans
If it were me, in a 90, I would stay away from puffers that must be singletons and have low activity such as the first two you mention... and go for ones that I could have as a group

Which are more common and not to exspensive?

Just my opinion!

^ Unless you don't mind lurkers who may just end up sitting in your tank doing nothing all day, then i would strongly advise against the Monotrete suvattii or Monotrete Palembangensis...

Just really depends on what your looking for in a tank... i mean you could throw in a few really small puffers, such as the red eyes, or get a small group of South American Puffers which actually do better as a group of 3-5 puffers...
