Puffing Puffers

While in Mexico I saw these puffers, among many others.

The Guinea Fowl Puffer was fully blown up because of a local diver messing with it.

The Porcupine puffed just from me swimming towards it, they have a tendency to puff rather than run.

The Golden Puffers are fairly common as well.

Yeah, he's definitely fully puffed. My wife took that picture after a guy handed it to her! We've always been taught to minimize our contact with wildlife, but Mexicans have no qualms about grabbing a puffer from under a rock and manhandling it a bit. :)

These fish were in Acapulco (Guinea Fowl) and Zihuatanejo (other two) last week. We've been going three times a year for the last several years, but we're going to have to cut back for a while. No trip planned until March of next year. :(

Puffers are one of my favorite subjects, they're slow enough for me to catch a decent shot once in a while. Most fish know my digital camera's shutter lag and manage to get out of the picture before it captures!:irked:
