I got another fairly large tank. I need a submersible pump with 2000 gph at 10 foot head height. Any recommendations?

I know the reef darts are recommended for the ultimas but my first ultima 2000 is in line with my sump and I used a submersible pump that has been discontinued.

I had a bad experience with drilling holes so I avoid it whenever possible now, lol.

Thanks

I’ve used Laguna pumps with success. Obviously hooking it up post mechanical will make it only bio so you can run as much flow through as you like.

Laguna 4280 on a 1000 mode is my mobile go to for bio.

Thanks.

I like the increased water volume from sump but would recommend trying to forgo the sump? I picked up another 2000 for similar price of the 1000 so that’s the way I went.

Without knowing tank size and stock it’s tough to say for sure it may work just fine. The 2000 isn’t a small model and can handle some bio and mech.

Tank is a little smaller than my largest but 5’by 6’ by about 20” so I’d like to add some water volume to the system but maybe I’d be better off with jut the ultima. I haven’t used one as a stand alone filter yet

Going to use it for rays of course (addiction) - let me know when your P14s have a litter lol.

Oh very nice. I’m gald to see that tank going to someone who will do right by it. IMO that Ultina would handle the tank just fine but if you stock or feed heavily you should consider supplementing with some bio. A medium size K1 only sump is a great addition so it can grow with your stock.

I’ll hit you up when they put out pure for sure.

Last week I got a ecotech vectra L1.. I actually had to add 2 more 1 inch drains by adding a hang on back so i could crank the pump up past level 4 ..that being said the pump is $450 and I would have never paid that for it .. I traded my lfs three silver scats like 8 inch and a 18 inch aba +$150 for the pump.. I just felt like $450 for a pump is too much.. The pump works really we so far though.. I plumbed it into my sump because it requires a 1 1/2 inch intake pipe that can not be reduced
