what is a submersible-external pump? What is the difference between that and a regular pump?

A submerisble pump is any pump that can be submerged in water and function properly...

An external pump is a pump that is on the outside of a filter...

Most pumps, such as Mag Drive pumps, that you find in an aquarium store will be external submersible pumps.

An internal pump in a pump that is built into a filter...

ya thanks...i just wasn't sure about the external part. I had never seen one labeled like that before and was just making sure it was what i thought.
