Swimming in a mountain river
So I'm being offered a DIAMOND AMP MASTER 6250 Dolphin Pump, will this work with a 120 gallon sump on a 375 gallon tank?

hard to say. what is the output of the pump? and at what head height? where will you put the pump and how high will it have to push water into your tank? do they have an "output curve" showing output at various head heights?

Here's the stats from the Dolphin site. It will be under the main tank on top of the sump. Has to pump water maybe a total of 4ft? From sump to outtake.

Idk if this matters, but the outtake is Y'd. So there's two outtakes run by the same pump. I've been told that the 6250 is too much, I've been told it's just enough, or that I should get the 4750 instead... This is confusing for a noob

Well, do the math. 375 gallon 5x turnover = 1875 gph
That pump at 10' of head pressure does 5100 gph using about 490w of electricity. Overkill by a country mile and expensive overkill overtime in power usage.
Take the reeflo dart to compare. You will get 1850 gph @10' head using 145w. You just need to match your needs to the proper pump.
