Hi … I’ve got a new tank build underway 7x4x3 (LxWxH) with a 6x2.5x1.5 (LxWxH) sump ….
What sort of turnover would you recommend through the sump? and pump size?

thank you

Hmm, that's 628 usgal and 168 usgal sump. With 5x turnover per hour, that's about 4000 usg/hr. Minimum

I would use at least two pumps rated for ~5000gph each at 0' head. I would probably use 2x jebao dcp-20000.

I am planning a large tank, and initially I was thinking of the jebao dcp. The specs are great and you cannot beat the price.

However, there is little long term information about them yet. I am not too sure if the DC power supplies will last. I will get a Japanese Iwaki and use an Eheim for backup.

I've ran 2x dcp

I've ran 2x dcp-10000s on my 72x32x22 at 60-80% power for almost 2 years now. They are still quiet and efficient and all controls and components still perfect. I enjoy the simple control unit and they are well built for what they cost. I have a few eheims and an iwaki as well and I would say they are on par with the eheim in terms of fit, finish, quality. Iwakis seem to have more metal over plastic which some say is more reliable long term.

I have a dcp-20000 that is going on my next tank, pretty much exclusively reach for jebao pumps now. Can't beat for value.

I'm going on two years with these pumps. So far they've been problem free
