Hi, here is my problem hopefully someone can solve. My tank is about 60 feet away from my R.O. filling station and I use a 1 inch hose to run the water from the barrel to the tank. Now, the top of my tank is about 6 feet high and when I get to the end of the water barrel there is all that water still left in the hose. So, I have about 60 feet of water that I need to get out of the hose so I can reel it back up. What I have been doing is walking along the house holding the hose higher and higher then blowing into the hose every now and then to push the remaining water back into the tank and it makes a mess and is killing me. Please, if anyone has any hints I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

See, when the pump has no more water going throu it, it wont pump anymore, hence the stagnant water in the line, a ram pump needs the water pressure behind it, right?

you could get one of those portable air tanks to keep around, make an adapter on the end of an air nozzle and force it back that way......
Just a thought

lol i have the same tank

hold the end of the hoes up HIGHlet the water go to a bucket or the tank

Over u head like

All you have to do is pump the water straight up 7 or 8 feet and then angle the line down to the tank.

Be shure to at least double the size of the line after you start the angle to the tank.

Well the problem is, is when I want to take the end of the hose off my pump, water sprays everywhere from just the amount in the hose, I dont want to crimp the hose because it eill always be crimped there then. I might be able to use your suggestions if I put in a ball valve/shut off valve. I will give it a shot. Thanks

Hey, I think I solved my problem. I put a shut off next to the pump then I disconnect the hose then hold the hose high and chase it down the hall to the tank. Works YAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!. Thanks all for your suggestions
