Let me know how much you have and how much you want. I am looking for ceramic rings, pond matrix, bio max, substrat, substrat pro etc.. Unless you have a large number of bio balls the same color and size I am not looking for those at this time. I just ordered 5 lbs of pond matrix but could use another 5-10 of media.

Have cash and pick up. I am also looking for FX5's, large Eheims and a mag18 or mag24 pump.

hey bro, have you looked @ the amount of bio a bucket of that pond matrix can sustain (A WHOLE LOT) Just tryna save you some $$$ but I know you go all out bro ;)

Yeah I know it can support a lot but the flow through the sump is limited to 3k GPH so I need to spread around the media to other FX5's and a DIY pressure filter for another tank etc.. That and I want to be prepared for changes to my tanks down the road ;)

Those Mag Drives are very inefficient pumps. You might want to reconsider using them:

Mag Drive 24 @ 5' head pressure does 1800GPH (per Danner MFG) and uses 265 watts
Max Flo 2400 @ 5' head pressure does 1796GPH (per Laguna) and uses only 100 watts

AZponds.com is having a sale on the Lagunas right now. The 2400 model is only $120, whereas the Mag 24s are around $200 at most places.

The Laguna 2400 is $80 cheaper AND it will save you some serious money on your electric bill every month.

Ditch the Mag Drives...they are energy hogs compared to the Lagunas.

Thanks for the info Alex! Do you have experience with the Laguna pumps? Anything you like and or dislike about them? I need a pressure rated pump as there are a lot of bends in the plumbing.

I have their largest model (Max-Flo 4200) and I really like it. It's a well made pump, runs quiet, pushes a ton of water and comes with a 3 year warranty. They are more commonly used for pond applications, but they have a great track record as reliable pumps.

The Max Flo 2400 has very similar performance to the Mag 24, but uses 62% less electricity. I heard of the Lagunas from Reefcentral- a bunch of guys on that site use the pump and are really happy with them.

Here's a link to a flow chart for the different Laguna Max-Flo models: http://www.azponds.com/laguna_maxflo_chart.htm

Not sure what you pay for electricity, but where I live the Mag 24 would cost me almost $65 per month versus just $25 for the Laguna 2400. That's $480 per year in savings for the same GPH. I'm a cheapskate, so I'm always looking to find the most efficient products :)

I think you're over thinking it all bro. And how do you figure you're limited to 3000gph in that sump?
