What are the best air and water pumps to get for a 55g tank?

for air pumps i would go for Rena air pumps. for water pumps i would go for Mag Drive by Danner. they are efficient and powerful. but this is to consider i haven't tried little giant and iwaki... all three brands have been ranked the best water pumps.

Ive been using the new whisper pumps the ones that look like a weird blue alien on four legs,very quiet and strong

Rena is known to make the best air pumps, my new Marineland Airmaster 3000 is fairly quiet and a lot cheaper too, Azoo air pumps have been good to me also, whatever you do stay away from Hagen air pumps

i agree on the hagen air pump... i bought one and it doesn't pump as much as i expected it to. basically a weak pump to sum it all.

yup, plus it loses power until it's dead within a year
