This thread is going to be kept to the care and growth of the Red Flank for those of us who have these guys. Currently I have 9 in a 30 gallon breeder with a group of 10 Fulu. My dominant male is showing amazing color and is only 1.5". They eat NLS grow and I haven't tried feeding krill flake yet but I will. I will be separating them in the next days. There are maybe 2 males in my group and it appears the rest are females. Here are some pics of the dominant male. The flash washes out his nice red and when I didn't use the flash the pics came out a little blurry but here they are.

I have not had any problems with disease and they are just doing great. I have the tank around 80 degrees and the pH around 8. I do not have anything in the tank but a sponge filter and the heater of course. I don't want them to hide and not get used to me. Seems to be working, they are like my oscars and they come running when I come near.
 
Those are very pretty...Can't believe they are still that little and that colorful. Did you get these ones from Dave?
 
Those are awesome! How much aggression are you seeing? Really a gorgeous fish.
 
They didn't come from Dave. I got them from Ned and they were imported from the Czech Republic. There are only a few groups in the US from my understanding. Hard to get I guess. Someone said like 5 maybe 6 people have them.

I haven't seen any aggression yet. I am anxious to separate them from the Fulu. Just haven't taken the time yet because a few of them are going to be a little hard to ID right now.
 
I have never seen one.....awesome looking to be sure! Tremendous color on that male already!

Sure would love to have a couple of them!

actually maybe not as rare as we thought, i found a place yesterday actually that normally carries them, ill see if i can find it again
