I threw in some small pcs of Carrots this Morning for my pleco and just seen my 4" Motoro eating some of the Carrot. Is this good for them???? I feed them 3 times a day so I don't THINK I'm underfeeding him. His back and tail are always plump (assuming hes well fed).
What do you guys think of him and Veggies????
I'm asking cause now is the time for me to start feeding Veggies since he is so young.

Interesting.. good question.

Some of the studies I've read showed that rays occasionally ingest vegetation, but they are primarily a crustacean eater..

Not sure if it can have a detrimental effect, because of their digestion system.. monitor their feces, and make sure they poop regularly.. Ever fed a Tortoise Corn? Not pretty, same idea..

You might find this link interesting, a bit technical, but interesting study of feeding habits of rays in the wild..

that pleco could be a problem in there too

So far so good. I just keep him full and I am keeping a good eye on the pleco and the Disk of the Ray. Thanks

Interesting. I will try feeding carrots too. Carrots have lotsa betecarolene, maybe can turn the spots red?

Btw, its raw or cooked?
