Pup Tankmates

Hello. I'm growing out a male, marble montoro in a ~100 gallon by himself. My goal is to get him into my 540 but I don't want to risk it now. He's about 7-8" and doing well on cut shrimp and pellets. I would like to add a some smaller tank mates to get him used to other fish. Should I worry about him trying to eat them? I have a 4-5" yellow tail chalceus and some albino hecklii at about 3.5". What do you think?

Yellow tailed chalceus will be a good option.

I raise most of my ray pups with silver sharks these days, provide something that swims around mid water and are good at eating scraps without nipping tails.

If 8" then it's good to go in bigger tank mate

Thanks everybody. I put the yellow tail in and he’s fine. I’m leery about the big tank but I’m sure he’d be fine
