This is our husky about an hour after we brought him home, he is about 7 weeks old in this pic.
he was so stinky and dirty we had to stop on the way home at a DIY dog wash place to get him cleaned up and he was FULL of worms, but my goodness he was freakin adorable.

and he he is tonight at 7 months and full of piss and vinegar, notice the bin of random crap he is laying next to, that is mostly stuff I have pulled out of his mouth and need to put away.:irked:

they are great dogs but not for the faint of heart!
They dont do well alone, so if you work or they are the only dog they will take it out on your house and yard. They are aslo very very highly active and escape artists to the extreme, our backyard is like a prison with buried cinderblocks around the bottom perimeter and an electric line about halfway up and double strung on the gate.
He is also chipped tagged and tatooted.

They can never be left to run loose ever, no matter how well you think you have them trained, they do not come to you unless they choose to, and once free they more than likely will not choose to.

Thankfully they just opened fully fenced dog park where he can run loose and play with the other dogs which are mostly labs and always a few other huskies or malamute type dogs whose owners are also thrilled to be able to let them run.

We also have sliding locks on the top of the front and back doors because our other husky figured out how to open the door one night while we were asleep and was hit by a truck in front of the house...talk about trauma, I still grieve that dumb beautiful dog.

But if you can cope with the noise and the howling, and can meet the need for at least 3 mile walk every single day rain or shine or snow or sleet then there is no greater dog IMO. Their personality and antics make up for their downfalls!
