okay i had two litter this year, one was in july 5 and the other one was on nov 5. first litter it was 2 males born and i notices they bit each other near the pelvic fin or the body disc. so i seperated them 2. now the second litter i have 5, 2 females and 3 males. the problem still presists with the 3 males so now i have to seperate them 4 males that i have but i notices that only bitting occurs when the tank or section where their are 2 males but not a pair. anyone have this problem?

pups bitting each other won't cause much damage, imo.

what size tank do you have them in?

Well my lil dudes don't bite each other, maybe they're hungry?

Do they bite each other all the time or only during feeding? Hungry rays will bite other rays looking for food or if there is not enough food to go around they may be trying to drive the other rays away. How many times a day do you feed? Try increasing the frequency / amount of feedings and see if that helps.

1st batch was in a 20gal but when bitting occurs for 3 days straight i then divided them

well i don't see them bitting each other while feeeding but over the night till the next night i see bit marks.. this only occurs when the tank have 2 males. the bitting each other wont happen when there are a pair of them with each other..

I feed pups at least twice daily. As they mature I cut back to once daily.

If you only feed your pups once every 24. hour, it`s pretty obvious that they will start to eat on each other.

Even for adult rays that is very far from what is natural. Studies have suggested that stingrays generally eat smaller amounts of food - several times a day(/and night). They don`t just "pack up" once a day.

but if that's the case why do they only bit the same sex and not other sex type?
