Pups vs. Adults

Question for anybody who has mixed pups with adults...

At what pup size were you comfortable with mixing your pups among adult rays?

I realize that the factors include size difference, if pups can compete for food, and sexual maturity of adults, any other factors when deciding to let your pups play with the big boys?

Anything else to consider before mixing them together?

Well about 3 weeks ago I put my 8" female marble in my main pond and my motoros (both around 15") started to tear her up within a hour. I only feed her worms and i also only feed worms to my tiger ray but they don't mess with her so i don't know why they thought of her as food. If I were you I would experiment on a day when you know your gonna be home all day and be able to check up on them every once in a while, cause if I would have left her in there and went to work or something she would've been dead the bites got so bad that it took about a week for the wounds to stop bleeding and that was only of her being in there for an hour!

I remove my pups to their own tank soon after birth. Get them eating and grow them out for a few months. I put them back in with the parents around 5" or so and haven't had any problems.

same thing i do
they may get a few bites here and there but usually fine

ive added 5-6" rays in with 12" rays.... usually all works out but i have had to separate...

I have left my new born pup (4inch) in with my adult rays and have had no problem, in fact she goes in under the big female (16inch) in the tank and steels shrimp and there are three other rays in there all between 8-14 inchs

i have 6 inch guys with 12 inch guys no problems.
