i've had a few threads recently that have given a bunch of help in to my decision on fish stocking in my 75gallon. I have decided I want to go with a GT and a Texas but a few things on the texas. I want to find one of the blue pearl scale looking ones. is that called Herichthys carpintis - lago lahillas?

I am looking at purchasing a few of each at about 3" so that I can find 1 solid male from the GT selection and Texas selection. Would this be a feasible idea with 8 x 2.5" loaches and 4 x 3-4" fancy plecs in the tank?

That blue pearl the texas has is absolutely stunning and is the color I want to try to find. The GT(gold saum) is just sexy period so I don't think it'll be hard to go wrong there, though I was debating on the silver/white saum.

Any thoughts on when they're too big to try housing together? I have the option to get them smaller or bigger.

Order a few Carpintis Escondido. They're the prettiest ones imo.

what color are they? do you have pics? they all seem to run together.

Well first of all, you keep saying you want Texas. Texas is a common for several CA's. Carpintis, Cynoguttatus and even the FH Red Texas. Herichtys Carpintis is my fave of them and the Carpintis Escondido is my favorite collection locale variant of the Carpintis.

Do a web search for a few pics:

yes I have called them texas a few times. Everyone thread I have searched on MFk says in the end, they are all called TExas, even though they all are different fish. I have seen quite a few different fish here on the MFk but people seem to go back and forth on if it escondido or something else. From what I am understanding I want to look for one of the Carpinitis line...Herichthys carpintis - 'Lago Lahillas. is the one I think I liked the most. I was asking for pics to confirm that I knew what you were talking about. I had seen you post in a few threads regarding the various types of "texas" so assumed you would know what you were talking about.

This species of fish is just as bad as the geo's with so little REAL info on them. They all seem clustered and called the same thign when there are several different kinds. Sorry if I seem to not know what I am talking about but there is a ton of contradicting information and very little actual information so I am trying to make sure I find the right fish. I don't want to order and pay for something that ends up being the opposite of what I wanted.

what your looking for is exactly what won in an auction on aquabid in october . it had oscars to but he threw in an extra gt,tex, and ending up a festae because he took a while to ship. 4gts...3texas blue spots and 1 festae for 65 dollars including shipping these are pics from the auction
