Pure Albino??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
something is either albino or its not, there is no "not pure" albino. the one without the orange is just like a platinum or gold albino or something (hard to tell when they are little like this as their colors will change dramatically as they age) and the other one is an albino tiger O

Technically the other one is not a albino its a 'Lutino' Tiger Oscar? They are just called Albino in the shops because of the white.

I was just judging by the orange eyes and white/yellow pigment. But as you said their colours change, fingers crossed he stays completely white :)

it's not albino but lutino or "leucistic" which means they have reduced pigmentation

albino have no pigment whatsoever, if you look at yours one has orange and the other has dark pigments on the edge of its fins

I will leave the answering to this quistion to the exsperts. But i do love the look of it i have never seen a white o with no orange very cool

Yes I noticed that too.
Nice fish.

It's been my experience that they can develop patterns or lose patterns with age too.
Hope he stays without markings, those are nice and hard to find.
