Is anybody keeping any pure stingrays anymore? I’ve recently sourced a pair of Hystrix that I’m going to attempt to breed to hopefully get some more into the hobby. I’ve also been looking at finding some pure Leo’s. I know of 1 male I can probably get my hands on but other than that I haven’t seen any

Hopefully the breeding is successful! This is at the top of my bucket list to keep at some point. I’m planning on building a plywood tank at some point but that is several years down the road.

Is this the first pair of Hystrix you’ve kept?

I ended up with a pair of pure Austrian line black diamonds from a fellow MFKer. They will be getting delivered today! This will be my first attempt at breeding rays. I had one Hystrix male years ago but my setup proved to be inadequate and he died

Yes I breed pure BDs, pure albino Pearls, pure high end mini marbles, pure SWC (even though it’s already a crossed hybrid) I keep them breeding SWCxSWC, future pure breeding will be SWxMalegod to SWxMalegod but it’s a hybrid to begin with just keeping the quality levels up there with not breeding with anything else. Then I know some people breeding snowleapords, some others are breeding scobina, and I know of a guy breeding some stunning Austrian line BDs, I’m not sure his mfk name but he’s got a great line of Austrian BDs
