pure white channel catfish (not albino)

i caught a channel cat this morning (around 1:00am) that is pure white with regular dark eyes. all albinos ive seen have red or pink eyes and get a yellow tinti to their skin. this one is pure white with pink fins and dark eyes. is it a rare color variation or common? should it be in a place with more vegitation cover to keep from getting sun burnt? (its in my pond). and lastly, will i have to look forward to future health problems?

if you need a pic ill get one or two, im actually gunna go out and snap a few shortly.

Could be platinum idk with the pink fins though, lets see some photos to make sure

i think its fins are pink becaus i had it in a wire fish basket to keep it alive, instead of running a stringer through its gills. ill get pix in a min. it might take a while to load them to photobucket though.

you cab see the eyes are regular color

full body shot, the fins arent as pink as they where earlier

ive already got him eatiung pieces of shrimp and mealworms left over from fishing....so hes settling in fast, and the other fish dont seem to mind him...so far. except my bullhead, 'cause the channel pushed him away from a piece of shrimp and the bull head flared up and the channel just kept eating...lol.

I think what you have may be a white catfish (Ameiurus catus).

Just looks like a leusistic channel. I doubt it occured naturally but it is possible. If it was born that way, it would have got picked off a long time ago, but there is always a chance.

IMO I think it is just a channel cat someone let go and it was already big enough that nothing messed with it. My LFS has albinos and leusistics all the time, so that would be my guess.

Other than that I think you just cought yourself a nice channel cat.
