Purigen and cycling questions

will purigen or nitrazorb slow down tank cycling since it gets rid of ammonia and nitrite? i don't know if i should use it on a new setup or not right away. thanks!

also, if youve used purigen what are your opinions of it vs. nitrazorb?

Are you cycling with or without fish? Either way, I see no reason to add purigen until it has something to remove... like junk on an established tank.

And it has a pretty good rep from people who have ACTUALLY used it... you may find some people just can't stand the thought of chemical filtration.

Is there a specific reason you are using it? I wouldn't use it as a replacement to good mech filtration and water changes.

no specific reason just thinking if i buy some purigen the fish would have more color and grow faster since the water is clean?

You didn't answer my question on the cycling...

Don't add it until all your params are good.

i use it just to remove any tannins in the wsater from my drift wood and it keeps my tank crystal clear

also unrelated... are scrubbies only good for wet dry what about if they are submerged in a sump? thanks

They seem to be MOST effective in a wet dry, but they certainly have surface area to grow bacteria in any setup.
