Here I am sitting in front of my tank waiting for a waterchange to finish up. I'm staring at an empty, unused fluidized bed filter and an empty bottle of Purigen and that got me thinking, which can be a dangerous thing. :) Anybody tried it to see if it works? If the Purigen fluidizes, it seems it would be more effective than a compacted nylon bag inside your filter. I would guess.

C'mon nobody else want to add to this or tried it? While I'm at it. I'm thinking I'm gonna set up the filter again. Is there a better media for a FBF other than sand? I need more biological filtering in my 180G.

That was an empty bottle of Purigen from another tank, but I think this method would work better if you were using Purigen.
