Purigen/Macropore in eheim 2262?

Hi,

I have 2 eheim 2262 running, I was wondering is it possible to have Purigen or Macropore in these canister?

I read somewhere that they prefer slow flow rates, but would they still work in these canister?

I use purigen in my fluval extenals. Just make sure the bag is fine enough that it wont leak. I made that mistake once and my filter outlet looked like one of those snow spraying machines! Oh and put floss before it to help keep the crud out.

I use it in my 2262 near the exit of flow, with most fine filter floss before it. yes it works.
according to a thread on here somewhere, it's not as efficient as when it is in an appropriately setup reactor, but that can be a "plus" because when it is adsorbing as fast as it possibly can, you have to change it out really often. seems like I recall that people using reactors had to customize them for purigen too, which I'm no good at.

Yeah the thread your talking about was my thread, using purigen fluidize in a reactor does not work. Using in a reactor with no motion works amazing but it needs changed out every 24 hours!

The customization required was minimal! Just really fine foam above and below.

I'll give it a go in my canister
