Is it really as great as people claim? Does it really make your water that clear? I was thinking of trying it is it worth it.

Before I bought my RO i used peat moss & Purigen to treat / clarify my water. It works well if done properly and I like that it can be recharged.

I put mine in one of the stages of my polishing filter and got the best results that way as I didn't want it in the bio portion of my w/d, and because just tossed in the sump it had almost no effect. (Like most filter medium the water really should flow through it.

i have it in my fx5, i cant tell any difference in using it
now my tank was pretty clear to start with, but for me it was a waste of money
i used a whole liter for my 180 btw
maybe it would work better in the 110

actually this was a round about way of saying YES to the question you asked about whether this stuff was as good as people say

either way it needs a very fine mesh media bag. i recommend using the seachem "the bag" since it will not allow the tiny purigen beads to slip through (they do a number on impellers)

Its in my ac110 , and its great. It polishes water up to a diatom filter at times depending on bio load etc. I got 500 ml each in two of seachems "the bags" One to recharge the other to use while the other is recharging. I highly reccomend it. My tap water consistently test 20-30 ppm Nitrate and with diligent tank maintenance and purigen my Nitrates come in around 15-20 (The stock is messy big Bichirs too) It works

well I has serious tea colored water from the tannins in my driftwood, even though I had presoaked them for 2 months prior to putting them in my tank. I got purigen and like in 12 hours the water was crystal clear! So it worked for me!
