Just found out about this product , It gets darker as it gets exhausted and can be renewed with household bleach ?

So how well does it do after being "renewed".

I've heard great things about it on here. From what ive heard it looks nearly brand new after being recharged.
Only targets organic compounds in the water so it lasts longer than carbon (and it can be recharged, unlike carbon).
Great for slight nitrate removal and getting rid of tannins.
i may try some for myself one of these days.

Iam hoping that Purigen with 1-2 liters of seachems Matrix added to my filter I should keep my Nitrates under 20 ppm.

I just really curious if purigens effectiveness decreases after each renewal by a little or by a signifigant amount.
According to seachem the amount used is only good for up to six months, so now I just need to figure out how many renewals that is.

Like I stated above it is being added to filteration I already have along with at least a liter of matrix.

Thanks for telling me it runs out fast or slow depending on the tank.
Just what i was looking for, just have to see how fast it runs out in my tank.

Purigen® is a premium synthetic adsorbent that is unlike any other filtration product. It is not a mixture of ion exchangers or adsorbents, but a unique macro-porous synthetic polymer that removes soluble and insoluble impurities from water at a rate and capacity that exceeds all others by over 500%. Purigen® controls ammonia, nitrites and nitrates by removing nitrogenous organic waste that would otherwise release these harmful compounds. Purigen’s™ impact on trace elements is minimal. It significantly raises redox. It polishes water to unparalleled clarity. Purigen® darkens progressively as it exhausts, and is easily renewed by treating with bleach. Purigen® is designed for both marine and freshwater use.

it clears your water, no doubt about that, but depending on your water it can "run out" really quickly.

I use it and love it, but its not substitute to matrix or anything.

u mustnt have enough mate?!?! mine lasts at least 4mths before needing recharge and thats only 1L on a 5x18x18 in a 2000lph cannister
and comes back perfect after recharge?
