Are there any Puroresu fans out there?

In case you're wondering, "puroresu" is japanese for "pro wrestling", and is a term used to describe most of the wrestling in Japan.

Puroresu (or "puro" for short) is essentially the same as the pro wrestling most people are familiar with, except in Japan, they really get brutal with each other. Sometimes using legit kicks and strikes. Many puroresu wrestlers will "test" each other in their matches to see who can endure the most pain, which is widely recieved and respected.
Unlike wrestling here in the US, wrestlers have to REALLY earn their stripes, and sometimes will not even get a chance to preform in front of a crowd for years. Honor is a big part of Japanese wrestling.

Now that i'm done with the intro, are their any fans here on MFK?

If not, i'll just let this thread die. lol

I remember some of the older gimic Japanese pro wrestling with exploding rings and the ref dying and fire matches but I have never heard of this pluro stuff.Where can it be seen?

I buy DVDs, and download matches online... That's really the only way we can get it.

Japanese Deathmatches (what you are talking about) are a form of puro, just a lot more contrived.
