Is this a real type of arrowana this lfs has one that there selling for 40 dollars it has a slight purple tint but the tank its in isn't exactly lit up if anyone has ever heard of one or knows anything about let me know

there is no such thing as a purple arowana! the only thing that can look like a purple aro is the Blue base golden cross back which is an Asian arowana, they are illegal in the U.S and will never have the price of $40!
Yeah that's what I thought just wanted to make sure I wasn't passing up a good deal but I picked up a 5 inch silver off of the same place for 25 this one is about 7 inch it has more of a red tint more than silver the first time I went there it was in a more lit up aquarium and I could clearly see the red but now its in a different tank and the guy changed the name from red silver arrowana to a purple arrowana ill take a closer look next time
So should I grab him I'm on the edge because of my current stock 90 gallon with silver aro 2 oscars 2 peacock bass clown knife black ghost knife electric blue cichlid fire eel 2 plecos tiger shovelnose redtail cat ornate bicher and Senegal bicher none of them are over 6 inches except the fire eel and tiger shovel nose which the tiger shovelnose is 9 inches and the fire eel is roughly 16 inches but I'm upgrading to atleast a 300 gallon before 2012 probly around Christmas and getting rid of the tiger shovelnose and 2 plecos to get rays
