there is some purple/pink color on my turtle skin/shell. is that normal? im feeding it shrimp, massivories, and talipia filets.

I'm no expert but I've kept turtles on and off over the years and that does NOT look right. It may be a new "pink" morph snapper or it may be some type of skin fungus/disorder.

Is anyone else getting the humor of this potential new color morph?

Pink snapper?

It could also be from the diet. I know that the brand Reptomin makes a pellet called ReptoTreat Supreama that has color enhancing canthaxanthin in it. My male stinkpot started getting pink coloring on his legs and neck after feeding it for a while. I pretty sure shrimp have color enhancing compounds in them too.

i'm surprised nobody's pointed this out already...
yeah... i would hold a snapping turtle like that.. who cares about a couple fingers?:screwy:

well, if you asked me, i would say that you got a morph of some kind there. morph or not, thats wierd. but if its not a health issue than i think its pretty cool looking.
